Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Chattanooga, TN and surrounding counties
Description:
This position offers great entry-level experience in supporting people with disabilities. DSPs are mentors, advocates, and supporters. They help ensure that the person's needs and wishes are met. DSPs help people increase and maintain their independence, learn new skills, and remain active members of their community.
Duties vary depending on the needs of the person supported, but may include duties such as: cooking, cleaning, assisting with activities of daily living, providing transportation for the person, administering medications, monitoring for signs/symptoms of illness, helping the person apply for jobs and attend job interviews, having meaningful conversations with the person, helping the person learn new skills, teaching the person skills to improve their self-advocacy, and more. No two people require the same supports, so there are a wide range of duties depending on the needs of the person supported.

House Manager
Chattanooga, TN and surrounding counties
Description:
House Managers are responsible for the day-to-day management of SL and CLS staff, along with providing daily direct support duties. House Managers lead by example and manage a small team of DSPs to ensure services and supports are provided in accordance with the person's needs and preferences.
House Managers ensure the quality of documentation, coordinate appointments and activities, create and coordinate staff schedules, manage household items, ensure the security of individuals' personal funds, assist in the communication between COS members, perform direct support duties, and perform other duties that ensure the individual needs and wishes of each person supported are upheld. House Managers are a vital member of the person's team of support and must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills.
